Being a grandparent just means you've lived until your own kids have multiplied....being a GOOD grandparent....well that's something entirely different.
This blog is dedicated to those of you with parents or grandparents who just don't get it...or refuse to get it in any case. We want to hear from you. We're no longer standing by grandpa while he makes our sons feel worthless! We're no longer supporting mom just because 'she raised us' Badgers raise young!!
* My daughter was a cheerleader for three years during elementary school - her grandparents who lived 6 miles away came to see her cheer ONCE.
* My son always wants to spend the night at grandmas but she's 'just too busy'
* My parents just got back from a vacation (no they didn't take our kid are you crazy?!) and didn't even bring the smallest of souveniers for our son
* I have to schedule a time to take the kids to grandma and grandpas
* I have to knock on my own parents door and call ahead before visiting
* My parents will ONLY see my children on their birthday, Christmas or whenever they want to disguise themselves as grandparents to do something fun like carnivals or kids movies
* My parents live on the next block but haven't seen my kids in 5 months
* My mother has TONS of advice for me but never seems to use any of it for herself
* My mother told my kids that I was slutty when I was a teen!!
